We stopped here during Dunwoody and Arts festival on a Sunday. It was raining on and off so the restaurant was a bit slow.
The reason why I'm giving a
- we interacted with 4 staff members. One literally dropped off the nachos and walked away. Literally dipped it off our table. Like he was dropping off the mic but it was nachos instead. The second approached us to ask a question and left- did not even greet us. The other 2, our server and another waiter were nice, attentive and Carrie themselves well.
- the food was a bit bland on the flavor. It didn't have much spice or condiments.
- the vibe/ atmosphere just seemed sad.
I will definitely try to come back again but as of today- that's the feeling I left with from the restaurant. -

Worst service. Visited from out of town, walked in, was seated with 6 tvs around us, all with the same channel. No introduction, no smile, no confirmation responses that a normal person would make, just awkward, frowning silence.
Food came, was average tasting, and was smaller portion sized than any other Mexican restaurant you could go to.
Ordered a scoop of ice cream, was brought a deep fried ice cream. Price difference of 4 dollars was told that's the only kind of ice cream they had. Menu offered 5 different ice cream options. What was I charged for? The fried one. I also find aluminum foil at the bottom of the ice cream, brought it to her attention, didn't care in the slightest.
Would not recommend -

If you're looking for a place to drink margaritas then this is the place for you. However, if food is your priority I would try a different Mexican restaurant.
The restaurant was jam packed but it appeared that most people were just drinking. The drink specials for happy hour are great.
I ordered food and...Guacamole was pretty bleh. Quesadilla was bleh. Even the salsa was bleh.
Not what I was looking but you win some, you lose some. -

This is the best restaurant in this chain the staff is so welcoming and their service is outstanding. I've been to other locations within the group and this one is the best. The food selection and quality is always great and I've never had a bad experience here. The management interacts with guests and always make you feel so welcome and part the family. If you want great food with exceptional service this is the place to good.

Updating my review from 2010
They had many ups and downs, and we would stop going for a while and check it out .
Went two weeks in a row. New menu. (Hard to read, due to contrasting color vs print) but take the time, as they have many new items. And many old favorites.
Daughter had taco polo plate, that she just finished quickly it was so good. My wife had her old favorite of Azteca beef burrito. But now it comes three different ways, so ask.
I had enchiladas with mole sauce (and added cheese dip too at end . Interesting). I am mole fan from when I went to Mexico for work a few times 15+ yrs ago. It wasn't the greatest, but darn good.
And service excellent again after mediocre for a while. Large parking lot. In center of dunwoody village
